Just came across this information and I think its worthy of being shared.
The woman in the picture, the potter, her name is Ladi Kwali. She’s Nigeria’s best known potter who was awarded a Honorary Doctorate Degree and was made MBE in 1963 for the level of detail and skill she utilized while making her pots. She gave demonstrations of her skills in Britain in 1961, held further demonstrations in France, Germany and later America. She was amazing in all her presentations.
Her efforts and her skill have earned her a place on the Nigerian N20 note. It's great to know that the picture on the note is of a known Nigerian, and great to know that such person with no formal education is indeed greatly honoured for her skills and talent. Please do not compare this with Olajumoke Orisagun’s favour, hawking bread requires no skill or talent, but God’s favour can make it a platform for reaching the skies.
