The iPhone touch disease.

iPhone 6 and 6 Plus are falling victim to “touch disease”
It is understandable if your smartphone falls of the table and looses it’s touchscreen.  But with an iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus, it is a disease that is causing these smartphones to kill the touchscreen.
Increasing number of cases have been observed where the iPhone 6 and 6 plus owners have complained about how spontaneously these smartphones have stopped responding to touch. Unfortunately for these guys getting a new screen has not been very helpful.
This is mainly because the problem is not with the touchscreen; the problem lies with the touch IC used in these phones. That is, a design flaw is causing the chip to lose contact with the main logic board.
Even if you take proper care of your iPhone, the touch IC can still come loose. You will know your iPhone has caught the disease if you observe a thin, flickering grey bar mysteriously appearing along the top edge of your iPhone’s display.
After observing this disease care…

George Stinney Jr.: Death sentence overturned after 72years

When George Stinney Jr. was executed for the killings of two white girls in 1944, he was so small that the straps of South Carolina’s electric chair didn’t fit him properly, and he had to sit on a bookfor his electrocution.
Stinney was just 14 years old at the time and became the youngest person put to death in the United States in the 20th century. But Wednesday, 70 years after the fact, Circuit Judge Carmen Mullen tossed out his conviction, which was reached after a trial that didn’t even last a full day and was never appealed. As the Associated Press noted, it took Mullen “nearly four times as long to issue her ruling as it took in 1944 to go from arrest to execution.”
“I can think of no greater injustice,” Mullen wrote in her 29-page order, the AP reported.
Stinney, who was black, was arrested for the beating deaths of two young girls in the segregated town of Alcolu. There wasn’t any physical evidence linking him the crimes, and he wasn’t allowed to see his parents after he was …

Blacks can indeed swim: Simone Manuel makes history!

There is so much history in Simone Manuel's tears the moment she became the first African-American woman to medal in Olympic swimming. African-Americans were prohibited from public swimming pools across the country well into 1960s.The 1919 Chicago race riots began when a Black 17-year-old, Eugene Williams, drifted into the "white" section of the swimming area in Lake Michigan and was stoned to death by white bystanders. The police refused to arrest the murderers.
A hotel in Las Vegas drained its pool in 1953 after the movie star Dorothy Dandridge dipped her toe in the water.  Another pool was drained after the beloved singer/dancer Sammy Davis Jr had swum in it. In 1964, a bystander jumped into a pool at a Florida motel to force out the black swimmers and the manager threw acid in the water during a civil rights protest in St. Augustine. After the Supreme Court ruled in favor of desegregation in Brown v Board of Education in 1954, a Federal judge upheld segregated pools …

Marriage to rape victim: Is this a fair rule?

A Malaysian man who raped a 14-year-old girl avoided being thrown in jail after he married the young victim, sparking calls from angry activists for legal reforms on Thursday.A court in the Malaysian state of Sarawak on Borneo island ruled last week there was “no necessity to proceed further with this case” following evidence that the two were married, the Borneo Post news website reported. The victim, now 15, was allegedly raped twice by Ahmad Syukri Yusuf, in his twenties, last year. Rape in Malaysia carries a penalty of up to 30 years in prison and whipping.Activists say such cases are not uncommon in the conservative Muslim-majority country, where sometimes victims’ families would rather a girl marry her rapist instead of her name being tarnished in court. But this loophole in the system can give the wrong signal to others that there are no serious consequences for rape, they say.“Over the years we have handled many such cases where the man marries the victim and then divorces her a…
